Open up two images of beautiful beachfront property in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. The images can
be almost anything, though it helps if both are of the same size and dimension. Note the images here are in
the .jpg format, however, .jpg does not support animation. And so later in the program, we will be exporting
these images in the .gif format.
Select > All on the first image. Edit > Copy, click on the second image and Copy > Paste. As shown, the
resulting image will now have two layers.
Now, press the "Jump to Imageready" button (or: Shift + Cntrl+ M) to switch to that program; your image
will now appear in Imageready to begin the animation sequence.
In the Imageready layers palette, click on the eye for the top image to hide it from view. Make a new slide
by clicking on the "Duplicates current frame" button (the furthest one to the right in the picture).
You should now have two slides as shown above. Click on the top layer "eye" to make it visible again.
Make sure your second frame is selected and click the "Tweens animation frames" button.
You should have the above settings in your tween window.
Select your first animation slide and click the tween button again. Make sure of the above settings in your
tween window.
Since .jpg does not support animation, the file needs to exported as a .gif file. Utilize the above settings, then
File > Save Optimized As.
You now have an animation! (Lucky you, to be sure). However, you may wish to slow it down a bit. Click on
the first frame in the animation window, hold down the Shift key and click on the last frame. Click the
'0 sec.' button and select .05.
Final .gif image and the envy of all your non-animated friends.
